Jai Sharma makes huge decision about biological father Amit in Emmerdale | The Sun

ARRIVING in the village with the hopes of reconnecting with his sons, Amit lands himself in trouble next week after an outburst.

Emmerdale businessman Jai Sharma makes a shock decision when it's revealed to him that his biological father could be dangerous.

Former EastEnders star Anil Goutam joined the line-up of the ITV soap as Suni and Jai's biological father after the latter learned that he was adopted.

Jai (played by Chris Bisson) struggled to come to terms with the revelation but the death of the man who raised him, his uncle Rishi Sharma, pushed him further towards acceptance.

And when Rishi's brother Amit finally arrived in the village, Jai saw it as the perfect opportunity to bond with him and heal family wounds.

However, in scenes airing next week, Jai and his wife Laurel Thomas (Charlotte Bellamy) are horrified to hear from Tracy Robinson (Amy Walsh) that Amit attacked Nicky Milligan (Lewis Cope).

In a shocking twist, they are also told that Nicky, who happens to be romantically bonding with Suni, Amit's son, was assaulted because of his homosexuality.

Jai and Laurel decide Amit's behaviour is unacceptable and immediately cut him out from their lives, convinced he is a violent homophobe and wanting nothing to do with him.

But regular viewers of the Yorkshire-based drama will remember the truth.

In October, 2023, Suni (Brahmdeo Shannon Ramana) welcomed Amit in the village with a dinner in Nicky and his own father Caleb Milligan's company.
