The Bachelorette star Josh Seiter dies as family praise ‘fearless voice’
Former The Bachelorette star Josh Seiter has died at the age of 36 according to a statement posted on Instagram by his family to his 475,000 followers.
“It is with an extremely heavy hear that we share the tragic news of Joshua’s unexpected passing,” they wrote.
“As all who knew him can attest, Joshua was an incredibly bright light in an increasingly dim world.
“His fearless voice and indomitable spirit helped thousands of people in tier darkest moments feel just a little less alone.
“Although our heartache at Joshua’s passing pains us beyond measure, we find comfort in knowing that he is finally at peace.
They went on to say that they “hope and pray” that his spirit would live on through the words and pictures on his Instagram page telling fans that they were going to leave it up for the time being.
While asking for privacy they also shared details of mental health crisis lines lest anyone should need them.
Josh, who was eliminated in week one of the 11th season of The Bachelorette, was very open about his battles with mental health issues.
Just last month he posted about his struggles writing: “ I’m Josh Seiter, and I’m a suicide attempt survivor. I battle OCD, Bipolar Depression, and GAD, but I refuse to give up. What did you survive? #warriors #survivors #mentalhealth #awareness #bodypositivity #health #fitness.”
Just a few days ago on August 24 he posted a smiling selfie with the caption:“Surviving depression and anxiety one day at a time with a smile.”
