Madonna celebrates 40th anniversary of her first album

Madonna has proved she is more than a force to be reckoned with in recent weeks, following her concerning health woes back in June.

Since being released from hospital following treatment for a serious bacterial infection, the 65-year-old has been spending quality time with loved ones and gearing up for her worldwide tour.

Taking to her Instagram Story this week, the Vogue hitmaker gave an insight into her recent events of summer fun – and it sure looked eventful.

One picture shows a spacious room, believed to be in her home, filled with multicoloured balloons on the ceiling and layered tiers of food placed on a table.

She followed up the post with snaps of her children embracing the heat as they played with inflatables in her swimming pool.

Not one to shy away from the camera, Madonna also took the opportunity to pose up a storm in pictures of herself.

One image sees her posing on top of a horse as she took him for a ride in her garden while another shows her embracing her colourful decorations.

Another picture shows Madonna posing with her boyfriend Joshua Popper, 29, followed by her appearing to belt out a song as she played on her guitar.

The Queen of Pop concluded her thread of images with a group picture of those who attended her house party as well as glow sticks in the pool after the sun went down.

Her recent summer festivities come after the singer told fans she was “all dressed up with nowhere to go” in a grid post earlier this month.

The mother-of-six put on a very busty display in a black corset which brought attention to her chest and cleavage.

Adding to the snap, she gave a sultry pose to the camera wearing a nude coloured eyeshadow and lipgloss as well as dramatic eyelashes.

Wearing a similar outfit, Madonna posed while sat on a toilet as she looked up to the ceiling.

The singer turned 65 earlier this month and celebrated the milestone with her boyfriend and children.

In a video from the celebrations, she was seen posing with her hands wrapped around her boyfriend’s neck, as he placed his arm around her waist.

She also shared snaps of her six children; Lourdes, 26, Rocco, 23, David Banda, 17, Mercy James, 17, and twins Stella and Estere, 10.

In the caption of the video, she wrote: “It’s great to be alive… and amazing to be able to put on my dancing shoes and celebrate my birthday! I’m so grateful. Thank you Lisbon and to all who made it possible.”

Madonna’s tour is scheduled to kick off at London’s 02 arena in October.
