The Walking Dead star Erik Jensen diagnosed with stage 4 cancer as support flows in for actor and dad | The Sun

ACTOR Erik Jensen, who starred on The Walking Dead, has been diagnosed with stage four colon cancer.

Support has flooded in for the star, 53, who played Dr Steven Edwards on the hit show in 2014.



The father-of-one survived a brain aneurysm just 18 months before recieving his diagnosis.

A GoFundMe page set up by his wife Jessica read: "After miraculously surviving a brain aneurysm just a year and a half ago, our beloved Erik Jensen was just diagnosed with Stage IV colorectal cancer.

"As many of you know, Erik is a deeply devoted father to 13-year-old Sadie, who's the light of his life; an incredible husband to Jessica, his partner in art and life for the last 23 years."

It went on to explain the cancer has spread to his liver, but that his doctors may be able to remove the tumours with "with two very major surgeries".

The page asks for help to cover Jensen's medical costs, as it described the couple as freelance artists who are in an "extremely precarious financial position".

It has so far raised just under £100,000.

The Walking Dead actor has also starred in TV shows including Mr Robot, Modern Love and Mindhunter.

Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who also starred in the post-apocalyptic drama as Negan, shared his support online.
