Netflix reveals future of chart-topping show after just weeks on screen – and issues warning to fans | The Sun
THE FATE of a fan favourite Netflix show has been revealed after it hit screens a few weeks ago.
Pirate show One Piece has been renewed for a second season after the first season aired on Thursday, August 31.
The live action remake of a Japanese anime has already received a huge amount of love from fans who say that it is Netflix's best adaptation yet.
The series follows the adventures of Monkey D. Luffy and his pirate crew as he goes on a quest to find treasure and become the Pirate King.
Original One Piece creator Eiichiro Oda shared the news with fans through a video featuring one of the show's transponder snails.
In the clip he uses a voiceover to say: "What did you think of Season 1 of the live-action One Piece?

"I spent a long time working on it with Netflix and Tomorrow studios.
"It seems people around the world have been enjoying the show, which makes the hard work from the production team truly worth it.
"Two weeks after the launch I just received some great news – Netflix has decided to renew the show!
"The adventures of Iñaki and the live-action Straw Hats will continue onward!"

However, he warned fans not to let anticipation for the next instalment get the better of them.
Eiichiro continued: "It'll still take a while to get the scripts ready, so please be patient.
"From here on, it seems to me the Straw Hats will need a great doctor… we will see!"
The manga artist then did a sketch of the famed doctor of the seas, Chopper, hinting at a possible storyline for the second season.
One Piece producers have told Variety that the next series is all plotted out and ready to shoot once the WGA and SAG strikes are brought to an end.
