Mike Tindall ‘in trouble’ as he nicknames William ‘One Pint Willy’
Mike Tindall details boozy night out with Zara before the Coronation
Mike Tindall has revealed the bizarre nickname he’s given to Prince William and the brutal reason behind it. The confession came when he appeared on Rob Burrow’s podcast alongside his wife, the prince’s cousin, Zara. He said: “For the Prince of Wales, he is known as ‘One-Pint Willy’. He is known to me as ‘One-Pint Willy’ because he’s not the best of drinkers.
“Coming from a sport where it’s built on the social aspect and a couple of beers being sunk quite often. So, that is one that I will definitely give away for the Prince of Wales, One-Pint Willy, there you go.”
He then apologised for putting the royal’s family nickname out to the public. However, Zara looked embarrassed by her husband’s confession as she replied: “Oh my god, you’re in so much trouble.”
Mike seemed unphased by outing Prince Williams as he laughed with Rob and his wife Lindsey. In hysterics, Mike continued: Sorry, sorry sir!”

Along with outing his royal cousin-in-law, Mike also shared the pet name he and his wife call one another.
He confessed: We basically call each other ‘Munchkins’ a lot, don’t we? Or ‘My Love’.
“I normally use Munchkin, don’t know why that started but it has stuck and it stays!”
Zara admitted that she has another two-word nickname that her husband is saved as on her phone which ends in ‘kitten’, although she remained tight-lipped on the whole name.

It looks as though Mike has a close relationship with the Prince and Princess of Wales as he joked about their competitiveness on his own podcast The Good, The Bad & The Rugby alongside The Princess Royal.
James Haskell questioned: “How competitive are you two? Because Mike, I’m not going to lie, has made it out that both of you are super, super competitive. A bit like Monica and Chandler from Friends.”
Laughing, Kate confessed she had no idea where that’s come from as she’s not competitive.
However, she quickly added: “Actually, I don’t think we’ve managed to finish a game of tennis, the two of us.”
Mike interjected as he joked: “Yeah, the rackets are all broken!”
Kate revealed: “It becomes a mental challenge between the two of us.
Agreeing, the Prince of Wales added: “Yeah, it’s who can out mental each other, oh yeah.”
Rob Burrow’s podcast is available to listen to on BBC sounds.
