EastEnders’ Ian Beale star recalls ‘weirdest thing’ when arriving back on set
Michelle Collins reveals why she left EastEnders
EastEnders’ Adam Woodyatt, who plays Ian Beale, has opened up about his return to Walford and how it felt to see all his fellow colleagues once again.
Cindy Beale (played by Michelle Collins) was presumed dead back in 1998 after she gave birth to her daughter Cindy Williams Jr (Mimi Keene).
Ian left the square back in January 2021 after Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean) attempted to kill him.
The pair returned and were stunned to find Cindy’s ex-husband George Knight (Colin Salmon) and her daughters Anna Knight (Molly Rainford) and Gina Knight (Francesca Henry) living in Walford.
Actor Adam Woodyatt previously spoke to Express.co.uk about his return to Walford after his cameo for Dot Branning’s (June Brown) funeral.

Opening up on the thing he found “weirdest”, Ian explained: “Working with Michelle was like, no offence, but putting on an old pair of slippers.
“It’s just comfortable and it just works. The weirdest thing for me because since I have been gone they have rebuilt the lot.
“I got out the car yesterday morning, and I got out on the right-hand side to look and just gone ‘Where’s the square’ and it literally just disappeared, that was the weirdest thing for me.
“The nicest thing has been going back to see all the faces that I haven’t seen. The first day it must have taken half a day to say hello to everyone, I was just chatting.”
Residents of Walford were stunned to see the pair back together and left Bobby Beale (Clay Milner Russell) worried about what Cindy will do after knowing that he accidentally killed Lucy Beale (Hetti Bywater).
