BBC Strictly’s Dianne Buswell in ‘trouble’ with Bobby Brazier after Joe Sugg prank
Joe Sugg has told how he accidentally got girlfriend Dianne Buswell into a bit of trouble with a prank he played before she began dancing with Bobby Brazier in this year's Strictly Come Dancing.
The YouTube star is known for enjoying a good joke and has admitted he misled Bobby, 20, when he asked for tips on working with Dianne.
Joe, 32, competed in Strictly 2018 with Dianne, 34, who he is now in a relationship with and as they made it all the way to the final, EastEnders star Bobby knew Joe was the man to ask for tips.
But Joe told Metro: "I think I got Dianne in a bit of trouble actually.
"I said to him, 'Look, Dianne’s going to try and push you, she’s gonna try and stop you from having your lunch breaks' – which isn’t strictly true."
Joe admitted issues had arisen between them in training because he is such a slow eater and said he "likes to sit and enjoy my food".
He added: "When we were dancing together, she was like 'Surely, you’re finished by now, we need to get rehearsing because the competition is getting tough now and you’re still not that great'."
Joe said he had offered Bobby lots of advice on how important it was for him to fuel his body for the demands of Strictly training, adding that "food is just as important as dance" for success.
Bobby and Dianne have become fan favourites in the BBC competition which will head to Blackpool's Tower Ballroom this weekend.
Strictly viewers thought they spotted Bobby trying to kiss Dianne at the end of one dance earlier this month, but Joe does not seem bothered by the rumours as he congratulated the pair on an amazing dance.
In October, Bobby had gushed in an interview: "I could speak about Dianne all day. She's just a diamond – you know what, I'm falling in love with her. She's just great. I feel very lucky."
Bobby's dad Jeff Brazier appeared on Steph's Packed Lunch on Wednesday, where he said: "I feel like I'm watching my son become a man on national television because you can see he's grown in strength, he's quite tall and slim and it's not necessarily the same as being strong.
"The lifts and catches, I can see that he's now becoming a strong man and he feels that as well so it's an interesting transition to watch."
Jeff added: "What's not to love – he's 20, imagine getting to dance with Dianne every day. It's a dream for a young man like him."
