Robbie Williams fan dies after severe head injuries from devastating fall at gig

A Robbie Williams fan who suffered a terrifying fall at his gig last week has died in hospital.

The doting fan attended the Take That frontman’s first night of his Australian XXV tour at the Allianz Stadium in the heart of Sydney last Thursday (November 16). During the performance, she fell down six rows of seats before security rushed her to a nearby hospital.

After her admission, doctors decided to put the woman, who was in her 70s, into an induced coma. The horrifying accident happened moments after the show ended while thousands of concert-goes were fleeing the stadium.

On Tuesday (November 21), the medical authorities from St Vincent’s Hospital confirmed she had died. The Rock DJ hitmaker, 49, has yet to comment on the heartbreaking news.

According to the Sydney Morning Herald’s report, a stadium spokesman recalled how the late fan suffered the devastating injury. They told the publication: “Rather than us stairs, the woman attempted to step over seating rows. She lost her footing and fell.

“This is a terribly sad incident, and our thoughts and wishes are with the patron and their family during this time.” Daily Star have contacted Robbie’s representatives for a comment.

Following the accident, a stadium spokesperson broke the news of her fall and explained how paramedics attended the scene at 1015pm. An ambulance service spokesperson confirmed the incident to Sky News Australia that the fan had been taken to hospital in critical condition.

Venues NSW confirmed that there had been a “serious incident” at the show with a lengthy statement. It read: “This is a terribly sad incident and our thoughts and wishes are with the patron and their family during this time.

“The patron was attended to immediately by venue staff and a nearby guest who is a qualified medical professional. Medics arrived shortly after and the patron was taken from the venue by ambulance to hospital.”

Although Robbie didn’t post anything about the horror fall on social media, he thanked fans for their support on the first night of his Australian tour. He wrote: “Sydney: that was an unforgettable evening, thank you – I love you, Australia.”

The singer went on to congratulate a happy couple who got engaged at his gig, adding: “Congratulations to Daniel and Lauren – I wish you a lifetime of happiness together. Rob x.” Fans soon rushed to congratulate the singer on another stellar performance in the sell-out show.

One user penned: “What a night! Thank you for the incredible ride! You made 40,000 people feel like you were talking to each of us personally! A true legend.” Another gushed: “Loved every minute of ur show last night… A massive bonus were you singing better man at the very end.”

A third echoed: “I’ve seen you more times than I can count. In many different cities. This was the best.” The woman’s death comes after the death of two fans at a Taylor Swift concert in Brazil last week.
