Yellowstone season four may still be a few months away from its premiere on the Paramount Network (November 7), but that hasn’t stopped fans from speculating on what may happen. So much of the conversation has concerned Roarke (played by Josh Holloway) and the explosion in Beth Dutton’s (Kelly Reilly) office at the end of season three. But now fans are turning their attention to Jamie (Wes Bentley) who could be finally getting his comeuppance.
Has Beth Dutton foreshadowed Jamie’s demise?
Throughout the long wait for season four, fans have been going back through the first three seasons to catch any missed clues.
With the benefit of hindsight, one viewer believes they have picked up on a particularly interesting piece of foreshadowing.
This concerns a scene between Beth and Jamie, one which the fans believe is hinting at a grim outcome for John Dutton’s (Kevin Costner) adopted son.
On Reddit, this viewer has shared their findings which has sparked a debate among other users on what it could possibly mean.
User Iheartsev wrote: “In S2, Episode 8, Beth and Jamie are facing off in the barn and Beth says to Jamie that ‘someday you will love someone and I can’t wait to take it from you, even if I have to kill it with my bare hands’.”
So far in the series, Beth’s call forward hasn’t been paid off, leading this user to believe it could finally come back around in season four.
They continued: “Scary Beth. We know Jamie’s ex, Christina [Katherine Cunningham], is pregnant, though Beth nor anyone else in the Dutton family knows that yet.
“When Beth finds out, do we actually think she will screw over that baby, or as she promised ‘kill it with my bare hands?’
“I don’t like to think things will go that far, but for sure, Beth could benefit from some professional counseling to tamp down that insane rage.”
Beth’s fate is currently unknown for season four following the explosion in her office.
Most viewers believe Roarke is to blame for the attack, though some also suspect Jamie is behind it.
If it does turn out to be Jamie, and if Beth survives the bomb, she will most likely channel her iconic rage to seek out revenge.
That vengeance could play out similar to how this Reddit user describes, though if it does it would be one of the darkest storylines in the show’s history.
Not everyone agrees with the original poster, with other users hitting back with their own thoughts on Beth in season four.
“Beth may hate Jamie, but I really can’t see her physically hurting an innocent baby,” the user replied.
Another added: “No. This is not Game of Thrones. Beth would not kill or harm a child, not even Jamie’s.
“Beth destroys companies, hurts people financially, and kills careers. That is her ‘evil’.”
For now, fans will have to wait and see what happens between Beth and Jamie.
No plot details for season four have been revealed, but the Paramount Network has just revealed the release date.
Season four will drop on November 7 for a special double-bill premiere, with Deadline reporting that the release date will serve as a launch for two spin-off shows.
Yellowstone season 4 premieres November 7 on the Paramount Network in the USA. A UK release date is yet to be confirmed.
