Clarkson’s Farm has legions of fans wondering where the second season of the series is. Following the release of season one, there has been mounting demand on social media for the series to return, however, Amazon Prime has not officially renewed the show. Why hasn’t season two been confirmed?

Why hasn’t Clarkson’s Farm been renewed on Amazon Prime?

Season one was a surprise hit for Amazon Prime and the show followed Jeremy Clarkson as he took over the running of Diddly Squat Farm.

After season one premiered on July 11, it became one of the streaming platform’s most-watched series, with the show exploding on social media.

Many fans thought it would only be a matter of time before the show got a renewal from Amazon Prime, however, nothing has been confirmed.

Officially, Amazon Prime has not commented on the state of the show, with the platform neither renewing nor cancelling it.

There are many different reasons for this, with the main one being that Amazon Prime is already working through its current slate of content.

Amazon Prime announces its slate for the platform’s season of content in advance, meaning it will likely wait until later in the year to announce anything.

Another possibility is Jeremy Clarkson and Amazon Prime are negotiating the second season, with the renewal of the show likely going through heavy discussion.

However, Jeremy Clarkson has not alluded to this on social media and he has been keeping fans up-to-date on the status of the show.

Recently, The Mirror reported that the show had been cancelled, however, Jeremy Clarkson has clarified the situation, responding to a fan by saying “I shouldn’t pay any attention to it.”

One fan commented: “Gutted there won’t be a season 2 of @JeremyClarkson farm.”

Jeremy Clarkson replied explaining that “they haven’t,” dispelling the rumours.

However, there is a lot of misinformation on the second season circulating online, with another fan asking: “Can you confirm if the rumours are true that they are shooting series 2?!”

Clarkson responded: “No. We aren’t. Write to Amazon, it’s their decision.”

This comment implies that Clarkson is also unaware of what is happening with season two, however, he could contractually be obligated to not comment on the situation at this time.

Amazon Prime has renewed shows years after the original series aired, with a recent example being the renewal of Good Omens after the first season dropped in 2019.

Timings on Clarkson’s Farm may also be important as season one followed a harvest, making the scheduling of the show highly important.

Amazon Prime may need to wait another year before renewing the show if it wants to follow the same path with the second season.

Fans have taken to social media to ask where season two is, with many of them commenting about the show on Twitter.

One fan said: “Clarkson’s Farm was absolutely brilliant, need Season 2 ASAP.”

Another fan added: “Just finished Clarkson’s Farm. Outstanding work @JeremyClarkson loved every minute of the ups and downs. Fingers crossed for Season 2!”

A third fan commented: “Finished watching Clarkson’s Farm on Amazon Prime. I loved that show. I honestly hope they’re making a season 2.”

Clarkson’s Farm is available to watch exclusively on Amazon Prime Video.
