Who is Tommy Banks?
Tommy has been pursuing his passion for cooking since he was 17-years-old.
He currently works as the Head Chef at his family's restaurant, The Black Swan, where he earned himself a Michelin Star.
The legendary establishment bases their menu on locally sourced products – and has been rated 2017's best restaurant in the world by TripAdvisor.
Banks also uses his own fresh produce by growing his own ingredients, specialising in traditional techniques like clamping, preserving and fermenting.
In both 2016 and 2017, he stormed to victory on The Great British Menu, winning in the final twice with two fish courses.
Then, Tommy’s menu included a tribute to the midsummer solstice celebrations and a twist on strawberries and cream – and now he's back on TV, as a guest judge on The Chef's Table.
What happened on Great British Menu?
Professional chefs compete to create a dish fit for a banquet to celebrate a different occasion – this year it’s Wimbledon’s 140th birthday.
24 professionals show off their culinary skills in the hopes of being chosen to cook one course for the four-course banquet.
One chef each week goes through to the final, where the judges taste the dishes again and award them marks out of ten.
The three dishes that have scored the highest for each course are then put to the public vote.
Will he be hosting The Big Family Cooking Showdown?
Tommy is set to present The Big Family Cooking Showdown, which has been recommissioned.
His co-presenter will be none other than the previous Celebrity MasterChef winner Angellica Bell.
The BBC Two show is a competitive food series which was filmed in Wales.
Patrick Holland, the controller of BBC Two, describes the show as "a celebration of the role of mealtimes in family lives across the UK".
