The forest is known as the "Suicide Forrest" as it is a frequent site for suicide.

The then-24-year-old Logan posted a video online going into the "haunted" forest and after finding the body, started making jokes that many on the internet found unprofessional.

What happened after the video was posted?

Following the video being posted, YouTube suspended his account and 200,000 people signed a petition to have him removed from the platform entirely.

Logan released an apology on Twitter saying "I've never made a mistake like this before." Following up he said he was stepping away from posting and "taking time to reflect."

The video also caused him to lose followers and subscribers, SocialBlade reported at the time that he had a 47 percent in views and 88 percent slowdown in subscribers.

YouTube CEO, Susan Wojcicki, also suspended his ad revenue from the streaming platform and said that he had violated their policies enough times to call for termination of him on the site.

On June 19, 2022, Paul appeared on the True Geordie's podcast, revealing that one of his idols Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has cut ties with the YouTuber.

He said when he found out that Johnson wanted nothing to do with Paul it was "one of the saddest moments of my life."

Paul added: "'After Japan happened, obviously found myself in a hole, rightfully so, that I had never been in before. Extremely low mentally.

"And I got a call from my publicist who also repped Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson and she's like, 'Dwayne has asked that you remove every picture and video that you've done with him. And maybe in the future the relationship can be reconciled but for now, he basically wants nothing to do with you.' Which I also understood, I get it."

"I totally got where he was coming from," Paul added.

"I was so disappointed, like in myself. Like real disappointment in myself. And so, I vowed to get better, I vowed to change, whatever, time passed, I start doing well.

"I just, I don't know. I just wanted to be able to build a relationship with Dwayne that didn't end up happening."

According to The Daily Mail, Paul also added that Johnson did end up reaching out to Paul about a funny video he posted that The Rock liked.

However, Paul revealed that Dwayne did not acknowledge the disconnect and acted as if "nothing ever happened."

Why is Logan Paul being sued by Japan?

Three years following the video, Logan is now being sued by Japan in a claim that his video cost the movie production company Planeless Pictures, millions following the backlash of the video.

Back in 2016, Logan was supposed to star as himself in the movie Airplane Model which was supposed to be about modern-day trend-setters, inspired by Logan, his brother other social media stars.
