This Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield to MISS today's show amid huge ITV presenter shake-up

THIS Morning's Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield will not appear today as ITV gives its biggest stars two weeks off.

They have been replaced by Friday hosts Alison Hammond and Dermot O’Leary, who are hosting the whole week from Monday, April 4.

They will be followed by stand-in presenters Josie Gibson and Vernon Kay, who will cover the following week from April 11.

Phillip and Holly won't return from their extended break from the show until Tuesday, April 19 – after more than two weeks off – with Dermot, 48, and Alison, 47, covering the bank holiday specials on Friday 15 and Monday 18.

Dermot apologised for the shake-up on Friday saying: "Right, we are back on Monday, apologies in advance."

It comes as Susanna Reid was replaced by Kate Garraway on GMB.

Kate normally presents GMB on Fridays with Ben Shephard while Susanna fronts the programme with Richard for the rest of the week.

Lorraine Kelly has also been given time off from her mid-morning show, with Ranvir Singh hosting in her place.

Last month Holly took a week off from presenting the show after catching Covid-19, seeing her isolating at home.

Two replacements were drafted to cover her time off – with both Josie and Alison shared the load of the days she was missing.

Holly also missed hosting Dancing On Ice alongside Phillip on March 13 as she was struck down with Covid just hours before the show went live.

The presenter also took two and half weeks off at the start of the year to film  Wim Hof’s Superstar Survival with comic Lee Mack, 53.

Holly, who is reported to earn £730,000 a year for her four-day-a-week role on This Morning, is estimated to be getting £100,000 for her BBC job.
