'The Young and the Restless': Sasha Calle's Fate With the Show Revealed With Update About Her Character

The Young and the Restless have undergone many casting changes over the years. In recent months, the character Lola Rosales (Sasha Calle) has been absent from the show. Speculation about Lola’s future began after Calle landed a coveted superhero role. Now, the CBS soap opera has shed some light on Lola’s whereabouts.

‘The Young and the Restless’ Lola Rosales leaves Genoa City

Lola debuted on The Young and the Restless in September 2018 and became a member of Genoa City’s younger crowd. The Miami native worked in a food truck then became the top cook at Abby Newman’s (Melissa Ordway) restaurant. Aside from her successful career, Lola also had romances with Kyle Abbott (Michael Mealor) and Theo Vanderway (Tyler Johnson).

However, as with many The Young and the Restless characters, Lola slowly was pushed to the backburner. Lola hasn’t been seen in a while, and the latest update implies she’s returned to Miami. In a recent episode, Abby tells Devon Hamilton (Bryton James), she’s searching for a new chef because Lola left. Abby then praises Lola by saying, “she was like a superhero.”

Sasha Calle cast as Supergirl

No official confirmation has been made regarding Calle’s status with The Young and the Restless. However, all signs seem to indicate Calle’s three-year run as Lola is over. Although fans are sad to see her go, they’re excited about the actor’s bright future.

In February 2021, Calle’s status with The Young and the Restless came into question after she landed the role of Supergirl. Calle will debut as the iconic superhero in the 2022 film The Flash. According to ComicBook.com, Calle is also rumored to be playing Supergirl in an HBO Max series.

Will Lola Rosales ever return to Genoa City?

With Calle out, The Young and the Restless producers decided to write off the Lola character. Lola had been directionless in her storylines, and with nothing much to do, it was best to have her exit Genoa City. However, as with many soap opera characters, there’s the possibility of a future return.

Lola might make a surprise visit to her brother Rey Rosales (Jordi Vilasuso). Also, with Noah Newman’s (Rory Gibson) return, the show could move forward with the potential romance that was teased between the two. There are a few potential good storylines for when and if The Young and the Restless ever decides to bring back Lola.
