The Mandalorian brings along Bo-Katan and Koska Reeves

The gang found the Imperial ship that’s carrying Doctor Pershing and, after disabling all the controls, the Mandalorian and Cara Dune board. One of the pilots is almost mocking this New Republic fighter, talking to her about the death star and everyone she lost.

Of course, she shoots him, but thanks to the Doctor, they learn that Baby Yoda, err, Grogu is still alive. They take him as prisoner. The Mandalorian and Boba Fett go to find Bo-Katan but she doesn’t want to help. That is, until she learns that they have Moff Gideon’s coordinates.

There’s some fighting between the bounty hunters, but Bo-Katan agrees, only because she wants to take back Mandalore. She encourages the Mandalorian to help out, and he might, but of course he’s more worried about fighting Moff Gideon.

There’s one more thing, she says, Gideon has her ancient weapon that can cut through pretty much anything, except pure beskar. That’s the dark saber. The Mandalorian says if she helps get the Child, she can have whatever she wants.

The Mandalorian and his friends board Moff Gideon’s ship

The squad meets up in the ship to figure out the battle plan. Bo-Katan says there shouldn’t be too many stormtroopers inside, but the Doctor says they’re underestimating one thing and that’s the new “dark troopers,” which don’t even have a human inside, so they’re extra deadly.

Once they have a plan, with the Mandalorian going alone to pick up the Child, they decide to meet at the bridge. Masked as that Imperial ship they boarded, being shot at by Boba Fett’s ship, the gang requests emergency landing from the cruiser where the Child is being kept.

They are granted emergency landing, but they also deploy TIE fighters. Boba Fett gets rid of the easily as the rest of the fighters get inside. Moff Gideon sees and says to activate the dark troopers.

Fennec, Cara Dune, Bo-Katan, and Koska Reeves are killing stormtroopers without any problems as the Mandalorian sneaks around by himself. That is, until Cara Dune’s gun is jammed. (She fixes it later in an elevator, though.)

Meanwhiles, the dark troopers are deployed, ready, and about to leave their holding area when the Mandalorian uses a code cylinder to lock the door. One manages to escape, though, and after a pretty big fight, the whistling birds takes it down. The rest of the troopers the Mandalorian ejects into space.

The Mandalorian finds the Child

The Mandalorian makes it to the brig and opens the cell that the Child is being kept to see Moff Gideon holding the dark saber just inches from his little head. The Mandalorian drops his blaster. Moff Gideon explains that his sword is so powerful because whoever wields it has claim to the Mandalorian throne.

The Mandalorian doesn’t care, of course, he just wants to Child. Very well, Moff Gideon says, putting the blade away. All he wanted to do was study its blood. Thanks to the sample, he’s going to bring “order” to the galaxy. (Sound familiar?) He can take the Child and they will go their separate ways.

Of course, this is a lie and as soon as the bounty hunter’s back is turned, he starts attacking him. Thankfully, the beskar protects him. He handcuffs Moff Gideon and brings him to the bridge, where the rest of the squad is waiting. Unfortunately, the Mandalorian can’t just hand the dark saber to Bo-Katan. Moff Gideon explains that it must be rightfully earned in battle or it won’t work.

They don’t have time to talk about it, though. The dark troopers have boarded again. They make their way to the bridge and start beating down the door. Just then, they see a single incoming X-Wing that lands on the ship.

Someone new comes onto Moff Gideon’s ship

This mysterious guest doesn’t identify themselves. The dark troopers stop, however. On a screen, Bo-Katan can see who boarded the ship and it’s someone wearing a hood. They have a lightsaber. They’re defeating the dark troopers easily. It’s… a jedi?

Goff Gideon seizes the opportunity and grabs a blaster, shooting Bo-Katan. He tries to shoot the Child, but the Mandalorian blocks him with his armor. He then tries to shoot himself, but Cara Dune stops him. The Mandalorian opens the doors for this Jedi. And… it’s Luke Skywalker.

Luke Skywalker tells Grogu to come with him but the Mandalorian says he doesn’t want to. Luke Skywalker says that he’s asking for permission. Don’t worry, Luke reassures him, he will be safe. The Mandalorian picks him up and says they’ll see each other again. He promises.

The Child touches his helmet and, as a result, the Mandalorian takes it off. The Mandalorian puts the Child down and in comes R2-D2 to say hello. Luke says may the force be with you to the mask-less Mandalorian and walks away with the Child.
