'The Bold and the Beautiful': Where Is Jennifer Finnigan Now?
The Bold and the Beautiful cast has had many talented actors, including Jennifer Finnigan. Finnigan portrayed Bridget Forrester from 2000 to 2004, winning three Daytime Emmys. It’s been over 18 years since she said goodbye to the CBS soap opera. So what has the star been up to since then?
‘The Bold and the Beautiful’ alum Jennifer Finnigan became a primetime TV star
Following her exit from The Bold and the Beautiful, Finnigan didn’t waste any time in landing other roles. The actor’s become a fixture in primetime TV. One of her first major roles was Dr. Devan Maguire on Crossing Jordan.
Finnigan’s other TV roles include the short-lived series Close to Home, Better with You, Tyrant, and Salvation. She also had roles in films like Baby Sellers, Welcome to Christmas, and What Color Is Love? Currently, she can be seen in the Canadian drama Moonshine.
Aside from acting, Finnigan is also a wife and mother. In June 2007, she married actor Jonathan Silverman, whom she co-starred with in Beethoven’s Big Break. Finnigan gave birth to their daughter Ella Jack in September 2017.
Her most memorable storyline as Bridget Forrester
In July 2000, Finnigan made her The Bold and the Beautiful debut as Bridget. The daughter of Eric Forrester (John McCook) and Brooke Logan (Katherine Kelly Lang) was grown up and experiencing her own drama. Bridget is wooed by Deacon Sharpe (Sean Kanan), whom she elopes with.
Bridget’s family disapproves of the marriage, and Deacon’s motive for marrying her was to make Amber Moore (Adrienne Frantz) jealous. After Bridget is in a fatal car crash, Deacon gives up his quest for Amber and stays with Bridget. However, he would break her heart again.
Deacon began a torrid affair with her mother after a distraught Brooke sought comfort after being dumped by Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). The two continue their affair, which results in Hope Logan’s (Annika Noelle) conception. They try to keep their secret, and Brooke marries Whip Jones (Rick Hearst) and claims he’s the baby’s father.
However, Bridget learns about the affair after overhearing Brooke and Deacon’s conversation. Later she confronts her mother at the Big Bear cabin, where Brooke goes into labor. With Stephanie Forrester’s (Susan Flannery) help, they delivered Hope. Later an angry Bridget returns home and informs Deacon she knows the truth. She then sets fire to his belongings and tells him she wants a divorce.
Final storylines and exit
Finnigan’s final storylines on The Bold and the Beautiful consisted of Bridget moving on after her divorce. She briefly dated C.J. Garrison (Mick Cain) and Mark MacClaine (Michael Dietz). After discovering he wasn’t her brother, Bridget also began a controversial relationship with Ridge Forrester (Thorsten Kaye). Their relationship never went any further than a kiss, but it is considered one of the show’s worst storylines.
Bridget became engaged to Oscar Marone (Brian Gaskill) and moved to Copenhagen. That was the last time fans saw Finnigan in the role. Emily Harrison would briefly play the role before being recast by Ashley Jones. Although Jones was a hit with viewers, most fans missed Finnigan in the role.
While Finnigan may not return to the CBS soap opera, fans can relive her work. The show’s YouTube channel has a video recapping the Brooke, Deacon, and Bridget saga featuring Finnigan’s award-winning performances.
