The Apprentice candidate forgets project manager's name… in a pitch!
The latest series of The Apprentice returned for its second episode tonight (October 10) and it was time for the candidates to get creative, which always ends up being really embarrassing for everyone involved.
It didn’t take them long, as each team had to come up with an augmented reality comic character for children, and the ladies’ team jumped right into the cringe pool by resurrecting a phrase no-one has used unironically for years:
Project manager Khadija went even further by demanding the comic was French, even though the team can’t speak french.
Were they planning on letting the funky music do the talking? Well yes, since they recorded a rap. In English.
Over on the boys’ team, the kids in the focus group liked their space superhero comic, and it had less grammatical and language errors than their competition. But when it came to the pitching, one candidate totally fluffed it, even forgetting his co-worker’s name!
The girls ended up winning the task, partly due to Jackie’s really passionate selling of their comic to the high street retailer (WHSmith) rather than Khadija’s ‘iron fist’ leadership, which saw her compared to Kim Jong-un.
Cut to Khadija telling the camera that she doesn’t know who Kim Jong-un is, but he “must have done something right” if he’s so well known…
When it came down to the firing, it was David who got sent home due to his pitch tactic being ‘list off the product’s flaws’. Digital Spy spoke to him after his firing and he wasn’t happy about leaving so early on.
The Apprentice continues next Wednesday (October 17) at 9pm on BBC One.
