Sudden death rocks Roy as tragedy strikes in Coronation Street
Roy Cropper (David Neilson) recently made a huge mistake in Coronation Street, which resulted in the death of Evelyn Plummer’s (Maureen Lipman) dog, Cerberus.
It was an unfortunate error that saw Cerberus eat an Eccles cake after Roy dropped it on the floor. Because raisins are poisonous to dogs, he fell unwell and sadly died and before you ask, we’re not over it.
Roy is presented with another challenge involving a dog next week as his friend, Melvyn, pops into the café with his pup, Freddie.
After a trip to the local bat roost, Roy returns to the café clutching Freddie and explains to Shona (Julie Goulding) and Nina (Mollie Gallagher) how Melvyn had a funny turn, ended up in hospital and there was nobody to look after Freddie.
In the week, an exhausted Roy admits to Shona that Freddie kept him up all night with his barking.
Confiding in Evelyn, Roy reveals that Melvyn died and he’s inherited Freddie on a permanent basis.
However, as Roy accepts that he’s struggling to look after the dog, he later tells Evelyn that he dropped Freddie off at a shelter.
Evelyn is horrified, but has Roy made the right decision?
