Strictly’s Graeme Swann leaves fans sobbing after his emotional waltz

Graeme Swann had to fight back tears on Saturday night’s episode of Strictly Come Dancing, after performing a poignant waltz with dance partner Oti Mabuse.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after the cricket legend’s performance, with fans admitting it had made them emotional too.

Graeme and Oti performed the inspiring dance to Engelbert Humperdinck’s Last Waltz, with the star revealing that he dedicated it to his grandparents.

He explained: “My gran and grandad danced in the kitchen as a little boy I was watching them.

“They were beautiful dancers.”

After performing the emotive number, Graeme and Oti waited patiently for their scores to come in.

Craig Revel-Horwood gave the pair a six, while Dame Darcey Bussel delivered them a seven.

More generously, Shirley Ballas and Bruno Tonioli both gave the couple an eight.

Show host Claudia Winkleman said: “That’s your second highest score. Oh, I know it means everything.”

Graeme became overwhelmed with emotion after receiving the high score, and quickly turned to Oti for a hug.

Sensing he was about to burst into tears, Oti told Graeme: “Don’t! Don’t!”

Fans at home were left overwhelmed by the emotional performance.

One tweeted: “Awww Graeme, don’t cry or we’re all gonna start crying! #Strictly.”

Another commented: “Bless Graeme that was so emotional and good #Strictly.”

One posted: “strangely emotional after Graeme and oti’s waltz.”
