Strictly Come Dancing fans claim Oti Mabuse win is a ‘fix’ as sister Motsi is a judge
Strictly: Bill and Oti are crowned the winners for 2020
Motsi Mabuse was on her feet and in tears this evening when her sister, Oti Mbuse, was crowned the winner of Strictly Come Dancing 2020. While some BBC viewers were elated for Bill Bailey to be this year’s champion, some complained the professional dancer had already lifted the Glitterball Trophy – just last year to be exact – and argued the only reason she won was because of Motsi’s position on the judging panel.
After nine weeks, and several dances, Bill went head to head with Maisie Smith, Jamie Laing and HRVY for the Glitterball Trophy.
Each contestant performed three routines; a judge’s choice, a show dance – which had no rules or restrictions – and their favourite dance.
Bill’s first performance was a Quickstep, and he was awarded two 10s and a nine.
His show dance scored him the perfect 30 however, while his Street/Commercial routine was given 29 points.

At the end of all the dances, he was joint top with Maisie and HRVY, but some argued the younger celebrities were better dancers than the comedian and branded his win a “fix” because of Oti’s connection to Motsi.
Taking to Twitter to comment, one said: “So do you wanna tell me how Oti has won for the second year IN A ROW ??? when maisie & gorka or harvey & janette where so much better ??? but then again i guess her sisters are judges so are we surprised lmao #Strictly.”
“Petition for motsi to be removed from the judges panel as she’s the sister of one of the professionals. it’s literally not fair on the rest of the contestants at all. those results were rigged asf. #Strictly,” another wrote.
A third added: “Are you having a laugh!! Bill is a better dancer than the other 3???? I’m never going to vote again. It’s a fix and conning you out of money #Strictly.”
“Unless they tell us the voting percentages, it’s a f**king fix. if you haven’t got anything to hide then show us, we spend good money to vote throughout the series and it’s the least you can do. #Strictly,” a tweet read.
Meanwhile, one fan commented: “Biggest f**king fix I’ve ever seen , funny how the person with a sister on the panel wins for the second time in a row ??? I’m not f**king having that #StrictlyFinal#Strictly#StrictlyComeDancing.”
As for what it felt like to win the show, Bill said: “It feels extraordinary, it feels wonderful.
“I never thought that we would get this far, I never thought we would get to the final.

“But I have the most extraordinary teacher, the most extraordinary dancer – someone who believed in me right from the beginning and she found something in me, turned me into this, into a dancer.
“Thank you Oti,” he added.
Oti shared: “Bill, I think you are amazing, remarkable Bill Mark Bailey, you just put your heart into everything, your soul into everything, you’re in your world but I love your world.
“Thank you for being a friend, a father figure to me, a brother and for this!” she screamed referring to the Trophy.
This year, for reasons everyone knows, there will be no Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Day special.
Usually, four celebrities – who may or may not have taken part in previous series – battle it out for the coveted Trophy.
Instead, highlights from the last 17 series will be shown.
Strictly Come Dancing is available to watch on the BBC iPlayer now.
