Stay Close season two could be a possibility for Netflix after the success of the debut season. The thriller series launched on the streaming platform in the New Year and it was full of dark twists. Express.co.uk has all you need to know about whether there will be another series.

Is there a season 2 of Stay Close?
As Stay Close has only just arrived on Netflix, it is too early to say whether season two is in the pipeline.
However, with most other Harlen Coben series being miniseries, Stay Close is likely to follow the same pattern.
The creator of The Stranger and The Woods is unlikely to influence a second season.
However, Stay Close actress Bethany Antonia said there was scope for another story, but a significant time jump would be needed.
Speaking to Radio Times, she said: “I think that it will come back to haunt them but in a long time.
“It will be Kayleigh’s wedding when she’s like 35, and then she’ll see a yellow car and it will bring back all the memories.”
When will Stay Close season 2 air?
The series has made its way to the number one spot on the Netflix top 10 already, proving its popularity.
If the show is renewed for another season, it is likely to air at the start of 2023 at the earliest.
Ray star Richard Armitage said the ending does pave way for a possible second season.
He said: “It’s such a brilliant twist and one of the things that I like about it is the fact that you don’t really see what [Ray]’s done.
“You just know that there was somebody in the boot of that car.”
Who will be in the cast of Stay Close season 2?
Season two is likely to include Megan (Cush Jumbo) in some capacity and may focus on the Shaw family.
Dave Shaw (Daniel Francis) has been hiding plenty of secrets which would make for an interesting story.
Detectives Broome (James Nesbitt) and Erin (Jo Joyner) could also make a comeback as they investigate further.
Sadly, Eddie Izzard will not be returning as Harry, as his character died in the first season.
What will happen in Stay Close season 2?
As the series has not yet been renewed, it is difficult to say what will happen.
The season one finale saw how Dave had killed a man while trying to protect his daughter Kayleigh (Bethany Antonia).
The second instalment could delve deeper into the family’s history.
As Armitage also suggested, season two could pick up after the mysterious car scene.
He added: “You don’t see him in the car, you don’t actually see the thing happen; it’s all in the viewer’s imagination.
“And of course, he doesn’t know what he’s done either, which I think is another brilliant opener for maybe Stay Close 2 – who knows?”
Fans have taken to Twitter to share their thoughts on a potential season renewal.
