Stand Up To Cancer Celebrity Gogglebox line-up – Suranne Jones to Graham Norton

As viewers prepare for a fun-filled night of the best of British telly, Gogglebox has joined the line-up of binge-worthy TV on Friday night in an effort to raise money for Stand Up To Cancer.

And the one-off special will host a range of comedians and actors who have come together to support the vital cause as viewers get a sneak peek into their family life behind the scenes.

While some celebrities will be joined by their real-life partners and family members, others will enjoy the week’s round up of TV with their fellow co-stars.

And on Friday afternoon, ahead of the show set to air at 9pm on Channel 4, Gogglebox producers released the star-studded line-up of celebs ahead of the light-hearted night of comedy.

Suranne Jones and Adam James

After the national success of the hit BBC crime drama, Vigil co-stars Suranne Jones and Adam James were the first to be announced as the glamorous twosome took their place on the sofa to catch up on the latest shows.

After she shared the news on her social media accounts, Suranne told viewers: “Cancer affects way too many of us and the work being done by the Stand Up To Cancer campaign is incredible, so Adam and I are delighted to be involved.”

Adam agreed as he later chimed in with: “As a longstanding fan of the show, I am thrilled to be joining the esteemed list of Stand Up To Cancer Goggleboxers alongside the marvellous Suranne.

“With one in two of us developing cancer in our lifetime, it’s so important for us to all join together raising vital funds and really make a difference.”

Matt Lucas and his mum Diane

In addition to the award-winning actors is comedian Matt Lucas who has roped in his loving mother Diane to spend some quality time together while taking part on the show.

He said at the time: “Mum and I love Gogglebox so we’re extremely chuffed to be on the sofa together in support of the brilliant Stand Up To Cancer.”

It comes after the actor took part in this year’s celebrity stint of The Great British Bake Off in collaboration with Stand Up To Cancer which aired back in March of this year.

Graham Norton and Michelle Visage

RuPaul Drag Race UK judges Michelle Visage and her suave sidekick Graham Norton are also set to take to the sofa as they joined the Gogglebox stars for the evening’s event.

Chat show host Graham said: “Cancer keeps robbing us of the most wonderful people so it’s an honour for Michelle and me to be taking our places on the hallowed Gogglebox sofa for this year’s Stand Up To Cancer campaign.

“I dread to think what we’ll end up watching but it’s safe to say, some shade will be thrown,” he teased.

Former Strictly Come Dancing contestant Michelle opened up about how cancer has impacted her family over the years.

She added: “I love Gogglebox and I adore Graham Norton, so this is my idea of sheer heaven.

“I lost both my adoptive and biological mothers to this awful disease so it’s incredibly important to me to support this amazing work Stand Up To Cancer do.

“Every penny raised goes towards finding cures for cancer so I hope we can raise bucket loads of money.”

Michael Sheen and his partner Anna Lundberg

Good Omens star Michael Sheen and his partner Anna have joined the star-studded cast of this year’s line up despite the late night wake up calls after they welcomed their daughter Lyra last year.

But the pair have warned viewers they won’t be holding back their opinions on this week’s TV, and it’s fair to say fans can’t wait to hear their thoughts on the show.

Aisling Bea and Rob Delaney

Fellow comedians Aisling Bea and Rob Delaney are the final duo ready to take to their sofas to weigh in on the latest telly this week.

The This Way Up star Aisling shared at the time: “I am more than happy to be supporting Stand Up To Cancer, [fighting] a disease which has touched too many people including my loved ones.

“It’s especially necessary this year given how much strain health services and workers have been under during the pandemic.

“It’s been a rotten couple of years; I hope what we raise can help take even a small bit of the edge off.”

In addition to the star-studded cast will be fan favourites siblings Pete and Sophie Sandiford, the Siddiqui family, and couple Marcus Luther and Mica Ven.
