Stacey Solomon replaced in presenting role by Ted Lasso actor after one series

Stacey Solomon shares montage of work on Pickle Cottage

Stacey, 33, fronted last year’s instalments of Bake Off: The Professionals.

It was announced on Friday though that after just one series, Ted Lasso star Ellie Taylor would be replacing the former X-Factor star.

The Great British Bake Off’s official Twitter account shared the news with fans that Ellie, 39, would be stepping in to host with Liam Charles.

Ellie, who took part in last year’s BBC favourite Strictly Come Dancing, stars as Sassy in the hit Apple TV series, Ted Lasso, and has been a regular on shows such as Mock the Week.

The replacement comes after the birth of Stacey’s youngest daughter, Belle, who was born in February this year.

@BritishBakeOff stated in a post: “From Ted Lasso to tiramisu – we’re delighted to welcome @EllieJaneTaylor as our new co-host on Bake Off: The Professionals alongside @LiamcBakes.

“Pastry chefs beware – judges @BenoitBlin_MCA & @Cherish_Finden are also back for pud! The new series arrives on @Channel4 this summer.”

Unlike the Great British Bake Off, which sees amateur bakers competing to be crowned the winner, The Professionals brings together official pastry chefs who all hope to be labeled the best patisserie.

Stacey responded to the announcement to express her excitement for Ellie.

“So excited to watch this! @EllieJaneTaylor @BritishBakeOff it’s going to be amazing!” She wrote.

The post continued: “Can’t believe I missed out on chocolate week and opted for giving birth instead.”

Stacey replaced comedian Tom Allen as Bake Off: The Professionals host in 2022.

She welcomed Belle into her life with partner Joe Swash in February, the second daughter and third child born to the couple.

Joe has been back on screens lately in the pre-recorded I’m A Celebrity… South Africa, and sweetly detailed how much he misses Stacey and their children.

Bake Off: The Professionals returns to Channel 4 later this year.
