Spoilers: Eileen gets Todd off the hook with gangster Mick in huge Corrie twist

Todd Grimshaw (Gareth Pierce) owes mum Eileen (Sue Cleaver) a pint at the very least in Coronation Street, as she successfully stood up to gangster Mick Chaney (Neil Bell) and thus got her son off the hook.

Todd has been fearing for his life after stealing money from Mick, and thus he returned to the cobbles in the hopes of evading the hardened criminal.

However, Mick soon caught up with him, and a showdown ensued last week, but when Gary Windass (Mikey North) came to the rescue, the gangster promised that he’d return for revenge.

In an effort to sort this mess once and for all, Eileen attempted to get in touch with Mick, but his husband Erik arrived on the cobbles instead.

Meanwhile, Billy Mayhew (Daniel Brocklebank) got the shock of his life when Todd appeared at the top of the stairs, and he berated him for abandoning both he and Summer Spellman (Matilda Freeman).

However, Mick — and Erik — soon arrived at No. 11, and Eileen pleaded with him to allow her son to walk free, reminding him of all that he’s got to look forward to with lovely husband Erik by his side.

Mick saw Eileen’s point, and ultimately allowed Todd of the hook — but promised to end him if he ever sets eyes on him again.

Todd was incredibly grateful to his mum, but it’s clear that the young man is intent on making his mark on the eponymous street once more — but will he go after Billy now that his presence is public knowledge?

Coronation Street continues Wednesday October 21 at 7:30pm and 8:30pm on ITV.
