Spoilers: All over in EastEnders as Mick signs Linda's divorce papers
Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) has fought hard to try and save his dissolving marriage to alcoholic Linda (Kellie Bright) in EastEnders, fighting back her many attempts at both self destruction and the wrecking of the marriage.
But her dependency on booze has such a demonic grip on her that Mick is starting to lose sight of the wife he knows and loves and tonight, he was forced to give in and sign the divorce papers she has been pushing on him after publicly humiliating him and herself with a public outburst of their marital problems.
Since Linda demanded a divorce, Mick has refused to sign, knowing that their marriage is for keeps and Linda is ill but tonight, he was pushed to the limit. And her blase attitude towards Ollie ending up on the roof was the last straw as he determined that he no longer found her safe to be in charge of their child.
He sadly thanked her for making the decision for him and scrawled his signature before wishing that she and her new partner, the glass of wine she was holding, would be very happy together. As he walked away sadly, finally realising that he may have lost her for good, the end looks like it is nigh for the Carters.
And when they end up on the party boat next week and Linda hits the champagne far too hard before disaster then strikes, the family could be ripped apart by tragedy as she teeters closer and closer to the edge.
Is Linda set to lose not just her family – but her life too? Or will the trauma that unfolds be enough of a wake up call to make her finally fight back against her addiction – even if it is too late to sort things with Mick?
