Sally Dynevor is watching Corrie daughter Brooke Vincent’s DOI routines for ‘inspiration’

They played mother and daughter on the Coronation Street cobbles, and now Sally Dynevor has revealed how Brooke Vincent has been inspiring her behind-the-scenes of Dancing on Ice.

Sally, 58, told OK! and other press outlets that it’s been so helpful to chat to her co-stars about their time on the show – none more so than Brooke who skated to success alongside Matej Silecky in 2018.

The Corrie legend, who is taking part in this year’s ITV skating show alongside pro partner Matt Evers, added: “I’ve been looking at my on-screen daughter Brooke [Sophie Webster] who did it a few years ago. I’ve been watching all her performances on YouTube. It just inspires me.”

But Brooke’s not the only member of the Corrie family to lend their support to Sally, who has starred as Weatherfield’s Sally Metcalfe since 1986.

Sally explained she’s loved seeing her co-stars – including Samia Longchambon and Jane Danson, who play Maria Windass and Leanne Battersby – take to the ice over the years and they’ve all been chatting about it when they’re not filming scenes.

The soap star explained: “It’s lovely that we’ve all got a shared experience. Everyone [at Coronation Street] has been really supportive.”

“On the Corrie cobbles, we’re all starting off at the same beginning and they’ve all done very, very well. I’m really proud of them all.”

Sally added: “I’m just really excited to give it a go and see what happens. I’m certainly not going to win but I’m definitely going to enjoy the experience.”

Further opening up about how she’s making training work alongside her soap filming commitments, Sally said it had been a bit of a balancing act.

The mum of three confessed: “That’s a bit tricky, finding the ice time around Coronation Street, but we’ve managed to do it.”

“I’ve got Matt and he’s very experienced, so I’m really lucky. We’ve worked really hard and I’ve really enjoyed it.”

“It will be what it will be and I’ll do my very, very best, but it’s just a little journey and I’m enjoying every moment of it.”

Sally previously debuted her impressive skating skills by posting a video on her Instagram account of her showing off her new moves.

After winning praise from fans, her Corrie co-stars also flocked to the comment section to praise her efforts.

Samia wrote: “Well done Sal!” While Sally Ann Matthews, aka the ITV soap’s Jenny Bradley, added: “Looking fab Sal.”
