Rebecca Humphries slams ex-boyfriend Seann Walsh's latest kiss scandal apology in which he failed to say her name
Fans of the BBC ballroom dance contest were left fuming when Katya failed to apologise to Rebecca during an appearance on spin-off show It Takes Two tonight.
And Rebecca has liked a number of supportive tweets about her after reading them online.
Katya and Seann are at the centre of a cheating scandal after being pictured passionately kissing at the weekend – despite both being in relationships with other people.
Katya is married to fellow Strictly pro, Neil Jones, and Seann was dating actress Rebecca – who confirmed she'd dumped the comic in an emotional Twitter statement on Monday.
And it seems Rebecca is pleased she has many viewers on her side, as she liked one post that read: “I feel so desperately frustrated & sad for @Beckshumps having just watched the ‘apology’ that @seannwalsh gave. NO relationship is perfect, it takes kindness, consideration, communication &understanding. But most of all please have the decency to SAY her name? Apologise to her!”
Another angry post read: “Seann Walsh could have manned up & apologised directly to @Beckshumps like a gent on #StrictlyITT but nooooo it's too beneath him & apparently he's not that kind of person. . . as the photos show him on a wild night out kissing Katya on his girlfriend's birthday #bigego #Strictly”
One other message read: “Yet again he was trying to pass the blame and defend himself instead of claiming ownership! Making digs at her until the very end.”
Another viewer remarked: “No, not 'name check' everyone. Just apologise to his girlfriend of five years for snogging someone else on her birthday while she waited for him, on her own, at home. That's all. Thanks.”
Another Strictly fan commented: “After watching Sean(n) “apologies” I stand with @Beckshumps even more.”
And someone else posted: “Neither @seannwalsh or @Mrs_katjones apologised directly to @Beckshumps for their behaviour. They just sat there talking about themselves. How unsurprising. Not ok.”
One other person simply wrote: "He's a d**k."
Strictly fans tuned into the programme's weekday sister programme tonight to see the pair make their TV debut following the scandal.
When asked about the kiss – which both stars previously dubbed a "drunken mistake" – the pair apologised again.
However, Katya failed to directly address Rebecca – a move than fans did not agree with.
Speaking to Zoe, the Russian dancer said: "Obviously I apologise, and I can't apologise enough to everyone who it hurt and involved.
"But, the main thing, me and Neil are absolutely fine and that’s what matters to me the most right now and focusing on my job and doing it as professionally I can."
Taking to Twitter, one outraged fan wrote: "So all Katya cares about is that her and her husbands relationships find, not how Seann’s ex is feeling."
Others also branded the "awkward" apologies "insincere", writing:
Meanwhile, Seann continued to blame alcohol for the kiss, telling Zoe: "I’m sorry for the hurt that I’ve caused.
"We were getting on well, we were having fun.
"We had a couple of drinks and made a huge mistake and I regret it deeply."
When asked about Rebecca's emotional Twitter statement, which saw her accuse her ex of gaslighting, Seann replied: "I’m not perfect, far from it.
"Our relationship wasn’t perfect. That doesn’t mean I wanted it to end the way it finally did, and I’m very sorry for that.
"I feel it’s also important for me to say that the people that know me the most, that love me, they know that I am not the person I’m being portrayed as.
"I’m still sorry for what I did, but it’s very important for me to get that out there."
Fans at home were left disappointed that the gaslighting accusations had been ignored, with one writing: "Katya’s probably saved her career but Seann denying the emotional abuse and gaslighting his ex accused him of? TV career over."
Rebecca previously claimed that Seann had branded her a "psycho" and "mental" when she previously questioned his relationship with Katya.
The actress has been inundated with support from celebrities and Strictly fans after she went public with the volatile nature of her and Seann's relationship.
Myleene Klass, Stacey Solomon, and Sophie Ellis Bextor have all spoken out in Rebecca's favour, with Stacey tweeting: "What a powerful, important message.
"You will help so many people going through similar experiences. You’re amazing."
