Phillip Schofield removes all trace of Holly Willoughby from his Instagram
Former This Morning host Phillip Schofield has removed all traces of his once close friend Holly Willoughby from his Instagram account.
Phillip and Holly presented the ITV daytime show together for over a decade until he left the show in May.
Their friendship became frayed before Phillip admitted to having an affair with a much younger colleague on the programme, which led to him stepping down as presenter after 21 years.
His Instagram page has over two million followers, and at one stage, it was full of snaps of him and Holly showing how close they were during their time on the show.
The pair were such good friends outside of This Morning that they used to holiday abroad together with their families every year.
Many of the photos on Phillip's Instagram were snaps of the pair socialising away from work.
However, it appears that the pair have cut all ties as Phillip has removed all of the photos of him and Holly from his account as he looks to "move on" from the saga.
A source has told the Daily Mail : "Holly and Phil used to post pictures together for fun, they were huge parts of one another's lives, and they loved to show their viewers how close they are."
They went on to say: "The fact that Phil appears to have removed them from his page is very telling about how he feels about Holly.
"He seems to have moved on for good now, and is trying to leave Holly behind."
Holly, 42, still follows her former co-host on the platform, but Phillip has unfollowed her.
Shortly after he decided to step down from his role on This Morning, Phillip sat down with The Sun and explained that he had lost his "best friend."
He told the publication: "I’ve lost my best friend. I let her down (Holly). I let that entire show down.
"I let the viewers down. Holly did not know (about the romance). And she was one of the first texts that I sent to say, ‘I am so, so sorry that I lied to you.'
"She didn’t reply, and I understand why she didn’t reply, as well. So yeah. If anyone is in any way linking Holly to this; that is absolutely, wholly untrue. I had no feud with Holly. She is my TV sister. But quite rightly, when I am in the middle of a s**t show with bad press over something where I have done nothing wrong — in fact, I did everything right — it’s a witch hunt. And that strips that (friendship) away."
