Peter prepares to die in tragic Coronation Street scenes tonight

Peter Barlow (Chris Gascoyne) prepares for the end in Coronation Street tonight (January 11), after he makes a devastating discovery.

Peter was told that he’d have to wait a number of weeks to find out if his liver function was showing any signs of improvement.

He headed off to Scotland to rest and recuperate, but he returns in tonight’s double-bill, revealing that he hasn’t touched a drop of alcohol.

After getting reacquainted with his nearest and dearest, he heads to the hospital, where the doctor informs him that there has been no improvement to his liver function.

As he leaves the hospital, a fellow patient — who’s awaiting a transplant — makes a dig about alcoholics.

Meanwhile, Ken Barlow (William Roache) and Daniel Osborne (Rob Mallard) discuss matters, and when Peter arrives home, they inform him that they’re got something of a proposal for him: Daniel is prepared to be his liver donor if he’s a match.

What will Peter say?

His answer remains to be seen, but he evidently has other ideas in mind, as he later pays Adam (Sam Robertson) a visit, and instructs him to draw up an ‘Advance Decision to Refuse Treatment’ declaration.

Peter insisting that he simply isn’t deserving of a transplant, but will Adam do as he asks?

Ken implores his son to consider Daniel’s offer, but will he do so?

Coronation Street continues Monday January 11 at 7:30pm on ITV.
