Peaky Blinders fans have been patiently waiting for new episodes of the hit drama ever since season five came to an end in October 2019. However, the show has had to deal with a number of major delays in the months since due to COVID-19 halting filming. Now, Arthur Shelby star Paul Anderson has dropped a clue about the series – here’s what you need to know.
What did Paul Anderson tease about Peaky Blinders filming?
Filming on Peaky Blinders season six was originally supposed to begin back in March.
Sets had been built and scripts for the new outing had been written.
However, this was put on indefinite hold after the outbreak of coronavirus COVID-19 halted production around the world.
Since then, viewers have been eagerly awaiting filming to start up once again on the series.
There have been no major updates for a while about when this might happen.
Although now Arthur star Anderson has dropped an exciting tease for fans.
On November 8, the actor posted an illustration of his character on his Instagram page.
However, it was the caption which got viewers excited as it read: “Season 6 #comingfknsoon.
“Thanking you all for the wait, it will be worth it.”
The news is welcome for fans who are anxious to see what will happen next to Tommy Shelby (Cillian Murphy) and the Peaky Blinders.
Although, it is not quite clear what “soon” actually means for the show.
Back in July, Deadline reported how the series could begin production in autumn.

But it has not been confirmed whether this has happened or not yet.
One of the last updates came in late September when Oswald Mosley star Sam Claflin was doing press for his film Enola Homes.
Speaking to Digital Spy, he said: “It’s such a juicy role, and it’s such a juicy time in history.
“To have the opportunity to kind of explore that further would be amazing.
“But as far as I’m aware, there is still an intention of shooting series six.
He also confirmed he hoped to be back on the Peaky Blinders set “soon”.
Claflin added: “I’m growing the ‘tache out already. I’m ready now. So we’ll see.”
Season six of Peaky Blinders will see a time jump to the early 1930s as the show deals with the continuing rise of fascism.
As well as this, there is the small matter of who betrayed Tommy to be explored.
Fans have plenty to look forward to when the show makes its way back to screens.
Peaky Blinders seasons 1 to 5 are available to stream on Netflix now.
