Orlando Bloom is going to read a CBeebies Bedtime Story next month

If you’ve ever dreamt of Legolas tucking you in and reading you a bedtime story (we’re stopping here, people), then you or the child in your life will soon be in luck.

Lord of the Rings star Orlando Bloom will be following in the footsteps of Sir Elton John, Ewan McGregor, Chris Evans and, of course, Tom Hardy by reading one of CBeebies’ Bedtime Stories.

Orlando will be celebrating themes of friendship by reading We Are Together by Britta Teckentrup, in celebration of his long-running role as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador.

The actor said today (October 24): “Through my travels as a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador I’ve met children in countries all over the world, and witnessed firsthand how storytelling between adults and young children helps cement their bond.

“Children light up when being taken on imaginary adventures through storytelling, and it helps their creativity grow. It was great to be a part of CBeebies Bedtime Stories.”

We Are Together will be the first of two Bedtime Stories that Orlando films for the channel. It will be airing at 6.50pm on Friday, November 9.

Bedtime Stories with different celebrity guests air each night on CBeebies. Tonight will be scientist and educator Maggie Aderin-Pocock reading Brave Little Owl.

We’d suggest you tell the little ones not to mess about during Orlando’s reading, though. Earlier this year, Orlando Bloom actually stopped a performance of his play Killer Joe to tell off an audience member for using an iPad.
