Olivia Attwood shares teen heartbreak and ‘toxic’ relationship with Chris Hughes
Olivia Attwood has revealed her teenage heartbreak when her boyfriend "woke up and left her" after five years, before her "toxic" relationship with Chris Hughes .
Chris and Olivia couples on Love Island , but things went south fast when the pair left the island and embarked on their own reality series.
On Celebs Go Dating , where she’s trying to find love again, she had to open up to Paul Brunson and Lady Nadia Essex about the reason she has a "brash personality," choosing to make jokes rather than trying to be open and honest with potential partners.
She told them: "Going right back to my teenage years, my first serious boyfriend at sort of 18 got me very serious very quickly.
"He was a couple of years older and I was thinking of getting engaged – that was me – done. And we were together for nearly five years.
"He woke up one day, got up for work, and didn’t come back. I had the rug pulled fromm beneath my feet really quickly."
She admitted to doing "self-protecting" things to try to keep her distance from potential lovers, before opening up about Chris.
Olivia continued: "I was obviously with Chris, so that’s the hardest one for me to talk about right now because I feel like it’s really raw.
"I was one of the most toxic relationships l’ve ever been involved in. We just battled over everything, it was jealous, obsessive.
"We would be fighting and we would be making up, and loved eachother so much, no one could look at each other wrong, then the next minute we hated eachother.
"If you look at pictures of me then I looked like a walking skeleton. You can see it in my face, it was just gross, that’s the only way to describe it."
She later went on a date with Charlie, but things were not connecting at all as she admitted she would never be able to "be vulnerable" with him, so joked about trying to climb out of the toilet window to escape them.
