Dermot O’Leary and Alison Hammond enlisted the help of Deirdre Sanders on Friday’s This Morning as viewers rang in with concerns about their love lives. However, the agony aunt was interrupted as she gave advice to one particular caller by Alison Hammond’s phone ringing live on air.

Deirdre was sharing advice to a caller who has been avoiding her friends and family since giving birth.

A phone ringtone could be heard as Alison remarked: “I’m so sorry, so sorry.”

The This Morning presenter took her phone out and appeared to turn it off as Deirdre carried on giving the caller advice.

Once the agony aunt had wrapped up the call, Alison said: “Apologies for my phone going off.”

“Don’t worry, it happens,” Dermot quipped. “Never let it happen again.”

This Morning viewers took to Twitter to comment on the blunder as @ZanderLaw wrote: “Tut Tut!! No Phones at the Table Alison #ThisMorning.”

@ChantelO26 remarked: “You’d think Alison would know to turn her phone off by now…how long she being doing live TV?  #thismorning.”

“The ITV production team when Alison’s phone went off. Comedy gold. #ThisMorning,” @Hyther12 shared.

@djrustynail added: “How does Alison not know to have her phone on silent? Like TV presenting 101. #ThisMorning.”

“Classic Alison Hammond – phone rings during a serious phone in #ThisMorning,” @JonRobz quipped.
