Mario Lopez 'cuts ties with Joe Francis' as he's 'disturbed' by claims Girls Gone Wild star assaulted ex & abused meth

MARIO Lopez has cut ties with longtime pal Joe Francis after he was “disturbed” by shocking claims that the Girls Gone Wild star beat his ex-girlfriend and abuses meth, a source exclusively told The Sun.

Mario, 47, who had been friends with Joe, 48, for well over a decade, allegedly decided "enough was enough" following The Sun’s reporting that Joe had been arrested for domestic violence.

The TV host and father of three is a "devoted family man" who was "disturbed" by the allegations, the source claimed.

The source exclusively told The Sun: “Mario has distanced himself from Joe. He is very much a family man and certainly does not condone violence.

“He was disturbed to hear the allegations made against Joe and decided it was best to part ways. They are no longer friends.”

Within hours of The Sun's exclusive report that Joe was accused of abusing meth and cocaine, Mario unfollowed Joe on Instagram.

The Saved By the Bell actor had previously left positive comments supporting the Girls Gone Wild creator.

Through the years, Mario and his wife, Courtney, were frequent visitors to Joe's former Mexico retreat, Casa Aramara, and were often photographed with Joe and his ex Abbey Wilson during their stays.

Other A-list friends like Kim Kardashian have remained silent on the damning accusations.

The Sun has reached out to Mario's rep for comment.

'METH, COCAINE & PAINKILLERS'

Earlier this month, The Sun revealed that Abbey had demanded full custody of their children following an alleged brutal assault on her at their home in August 2020.

According to court documents exclusively obtained by The Sun, Abbey was granted emergency custody of their twin girls on June 7.

Abbey, who is considered Joe's common law wife in Mexico, was also granted a temporary restraining order from him for herself and their daughters.

In the documents, Abbey claimed in 2017, Joe "started using drugs, including methamphetamines, cocaine and painkillers,” and this alleged substance abuse led to violent outbursts.

The court documents, which were translated from Spanish to English, claimed: “It was then she was first on the receiving end of regular, sustained aggressions and insults."

“He regularly screamed at her and they started having constant confrontations."

The filing referenced photos that purportedly show Abbey’s bruises stemming from alleged attacks in 2017, as well as the more recent incident in 2020 which landed Joe behind bars.

Abbey also alleged Joe made shocking comments during a joint therapy session before they split.

“He told Abbey in front of the therapist that she should do him, the world and their daughters a favor and go home and kill herself,” the documents claimed.

As The Sun first reported, Joe was arrested following his alleged assault on Abbey in August of 2020.

According to a court source, Joe spent a total of 73 days behind bars for the incident.

In other bad news for Joe, just a week after Abbey filed for emergency custody, Casa Aramara caught fire and was completely destroyed.

A court source told The Sun that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
