Love Island’s Mollie says she couldn’t tell dad about show in message to pal

Love Island new girl Mollie Salmon has revealed she wasn't even allowed to tell her dad that she was going on the show.

Mollie, 23, is among the new batch of women who have moved in with the original men on the island as part of the popular Casa Amor segment of the show and she is expected to appear on our screens for the first time on tonight's (July 3) episode.

The original women, meanwhile, will get to mingle in their villa with a fresh bunch of men.

And Southampton makeup artist Mollie looks ready to find love, having said, in a sweet message she sent to her best friend Taylor Greenwood before joining the show, "I wonder if I'll finally meet a good egg!"

Taylor has since shared Mollie's message on her socials, which sees her buddy apologise for having to keep her TV appearance a secret and point out that her dad had to be none the wiser either, using a crying emoji to express her sadness.

But she then goes on to post a love heart emoji alongside a sentence where she speaks about how much she is looking forward to celebrating Taylor's birthday together in Manchester when the show is over.

In the message, Mollie says: "Hey Taylor, It's Moll. I'm guessing at this point you must know my long-kept secret.

"It has been the hardest thing to keep from you, however I had to sign a strict confidentiality agreement and wasn't allowed to tell anyone even my own dad. YOUR GIRL IS ON LOVE ISLAND!!

"I wonder if I'll finally meet a good egg! Anyways I haven't forgotten about our holiday together and I can't wait to do loads of fun stuff when I get back including Manchester for your birthday.

"I made sure someone running my socials was to contact you straight away when it was released into the public as the last thing I wanted to do was upset you. I really appreciate our friendship.

"You won't have heard from me for around 10 days. That's because I've been isolating in Spain with no social media so don't think I've forgotten about you.

"Unfortunately I have no contact with the outside world for potentially 8/10+ weeks (depending on how well I do on the show) so I have no contact with anyone but, as soon as I have my phone back, I'll fill you in (and promise not to keep any more secrets)."

She then signs off with "Love you lots, Mollie" after advising to Taylor to be on her best behaviour talking to somebody whose identity has been deleted.
