Lorraine Kelly reveals she's lost 11 pounds on new diet after gaining two dress sizes in lockdown

LORRAINE Kelly has revealed she's lost 11 pounds on a new diet after gaining two dress sizes during lockdown.

The 62-year-old has been following the WW weight loss plan and took to Instagram to share an update on her progress with her followers.

Alongside a photo of Lorraine and her mentor Suzy – as well as one of her beaming – she wrote: "FIVE weeks in and feeling happier and healthier which is what it’s all about!"

Lorraine also reposted a message from Suzy, which said: "This is what success looks like!!!

"Massive well done to @lorrainekellysmith not only have you achieved your half stone but you’ve lost a whopping ELEVEN pounds!!! Three pounds for a stone! FANTASTIC!!!"

The TV presenter previously opened up about going up two dress sizes during lockdown, after gym classes were cancelled and she found herself comfort eating.

Speaking to the Mirror, Lorraine said: "During the pandemic I started comfort eating and that was my downfall – comfort eating and not being able to go to my fitness classes.

"When those classes stopped I started eating far too much – it was things that I would probably never bother with.

"And so slowly, slowly, slowly over the past couple of years, I’ve gone from a size 10 to a size 14…"

Lorraine confessed that her decision to join WW, formerly Weight Watchers, was spurred on when she stopped wanting to go out.

She said: "If somebody said there was a big party, I’d think I don’t think I really want to go.

“I did go to a thing before Christmas in a black stretchy dress. There was nothing wrong with it but I didn’t feel fine. Only people in the same boat would probably get that.

"For me, joining WW is going to be about getting back into my clothes and feeling healthier and having more stamina.”
