“Of course, so many people remember him, of course, they do from Strictly Come Dancing and also Dancing with the Stars. We understand that he has died in a hospice.
“Our thoughts are with everybody that loves him all his friends and all his family. He was a smashing fella, a really really good guy so that is very very sad news.”

Dan Walker wrote: “So sad to hear about the death of Len Goodman. He was an incredible man & an extraordinary talent.”
He went on: “Loved making telly with him, being daft with him, playing golf with him & will never forget the little tips he would send every week on Strictly. All my love to his family.”

The former Strictly Come Dancing judge starred on the show from it’s launch in 2004 right the way up until 2016.
Len was known for his broad dancing knowledge and witty humour when it came to his comments on the judging panel.
Last November he announced on Dancing With The Stars that he would be hanging up his scoring paddle for the last time at the end of that series, telling viewers: “This will be my last season judging Dancing With the Stars.
“I’ve been on the show since it started in 2005, and it has been a huge pleasure to be a part of such a wonderful show but I’ve decided I want to spend more time with my grandchildren and family back in Britain.”
Lorraine airs weekdays from 9am on ITV.
