Lisa Armstrong’s life – Ant McPartlin divorce fortune, custody fight and new man

Before the lights can go up and stars can hit the floor in Strictly Come Dancing, make-up artist Lisa Armstrong is ready to get the celebrities ready with some of the series' most dazzling looks.

Lisa famously wed I'm a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! host Ant McPartlin before their split in 2018.

Lisa has been a makeup artist for over 20 years, working behind the scenes on some of the UK's biggest television programmes including This Morning.

As well as sharing insights into her fabulous behind the scenes career and life with her hunky new boyfriend on social media, Lisa has also delighted fans by responding to reunion rumours for one of the nineties biggest pop groups – which she was also a star of.

Pop star past

Before she was the makeup artist to the stars, Lisa Armstrong had a secret singing career in a pop group called Deuce, who had four top 30 singles in the UK including Call It Love and I Need You.

They even sang on the Coronation Street anniversary album, where they duetted with actress Sherrie Hewson on the song Life on the Street.

The band split up in 1996, but fans were delighted back in 2019 when Lisa sparked rumours that Deuce could possibly get back together for a reunion.

One Twitter user said: "If there's one pop band who need to make a return in 2019 it's @deuce_pop."

Lisa liked the comment, leading fans to speculate whether the hit nineties band will get back together, following in the footsteps of other huge bands who have reunited recently including Five and The Venga Boys.

Huge divorce settlement

Lisa Armstrong met ex-husband Ant McPartlin during her pop star days, when Deuce were performing on the 1994 Smash Hits music tour alongside Ant and Dec's pop star personas PJ and Duncan.

After meeting when they were teenagers, the couple went on to be together for over 23 years and married in 2006.

Ant proposed to Lisa while they were on a trip to Dubai, and they got married in a lavish ceremony in Buckinghamshire a year later.

After rumours that their relationships had been on the rocks, Ant and Lisa divorced in 2018, with Ant's representatives releasing a statement at the time of their split saying: "Ant is very sad to announce, that after 11 years, he is ending his marriage to Lisa McPartlin.

"Ant asks for privacy at this difficult time, for both himself, Lisa and their immediate families. No further statement will be made."

Reports later stated that they finalised their split in April 2020 in a huge £31million divorce settlement.

As part of the settlement, the court also ruled that they could share custody of their dog Hurley, who Lisa regularly shares photos of on social media.

Ant McPartlin married his PA Anne Marie Corbett earlier this year, who worked closely with both Ant and Lisa.

However, when the news broke about Ant and Anne's relationship, Lisa hit out at the news in a series of tweets, with one saying: "To think she was MY friend!!" in response to Nicola McClean's tweet to Lisa saying: "Sending my love Lisa. Really feel for you worst pain ever."

Custody battle

Ant McPartlin and Lisa Armstrong's divorce was highly publicised at the time of their split, and one thing the duo actively fought over was their beloved pooch Hurley.

At the start of their divorce, the dog would spend a week at each of the former couple's homes, but during the divorce settlement Ant was said to have told his ex that she could have "anything she wants – except Hurley".

As part of their £31m divorce deal, they agreed to share custody, with a source telling The Sun at the time: "Neither of them could live without Hurley so they agreed to share custody.

"His welfare will now be their primary concern."

Hunky new boyfriend

Lisa has taken to social media to share some sweet snaps of her and hunky new boyfriend James Green, 37, with the couple looking smitten with each other as they posed for a series of selfies in Soho, London.

The photo showed the beautiful couple smiling for the camera, with the caption: "Perfect few days…. @sohohouse #onthefarm."

The post delighted fans, with one commenting: "Lovely to see you looking so happy."

A second fan said: "So happy you had a wonderful time, you certainly deserve it! We all love you."

The couple reportedly met before the lockdown in 2020, with their love blossoming in the months to follow.

They have also recently shared an insight into their festive preparations, posting a photo of their beautiful home and Christmas decorations in a snap on Instagram, saying: "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas."

Sad career announcement

She is the face behind the dazzling looks on Strictly Come Dancing, so it's no surprise that the star launched her own beauty range with the brand Avon.

The collaboration ran for three years and featured make-up including a line of lipsticks, all named after some of Lisa's closest friends.

However, fans of the beauty line were gutted earlier this year when Avon announced that the collaboration was coming to an end.

Fans took to social media to express their sadness, with one saying: "Oh no I’m absolutely gutted! It’s the best lipstick I have ever used from your collection! I could cry."

Another asked if Lisa would be setting up her own make-up company, saying: "Hoping you continue your make up brand under your own independent company? There's lots of us who will follow you to get the products we love x."

Lisa was moved by fans outpouring of love for the collection and responded in a social media post saying: "Thank-you…. It was an amazing partnership which I have loved every second of!!! It was only ever a signature collection for 3 years and now the time is up…"
