Katie Price contacts authorities to adopt 2 year-old saying she 'has experience' with disabled children but hits hurdle

KATIE Price tried to reach out to authorities about adopting a two-year-old little girl who is at risk of being brought up in permanent care.

The reality TV star reached out after The Sun highlighted sweet Olivia's story, but hit a roadblock no one could have seen coming.

According to Katie, when she reached out to the relevant authorities, they didn't pick up the phone.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Katie shared a photo of The Sun's story letting fans know she had tried to call about potentially adopting Olivia.

"Yes yes I've tried to contact but no answer," Katie updated fans.

Katie, 42, had read the urgent appeal and posted it to her fans, writing: "I would love to (have) her in my family" alongside two heart emojis.

Many of her needs are still evolving, so there are still many unknowns about her development.

And Katie, whose eldest son Harvey was born with disabilities, says she has the experience and the love to give Olivia.

Kind-hearted Katie told The Sun: "Yes I absolutely want more kids, and I have always said that I will adopt.

"I’ve proved to the public with Harvey that I know how to handle children with severe needs, I know I could provide a good home for little Olivia."

One of Olivia's most significant health needs comes from being born with a cleft lip and palate, meaning she cannot consume anything orally and her tummy has been tied so she can't be sick.

The “LAST chance” appeal was launched to find a home for a ''beautiful, inquisitive'' two-year-old looking for a family her whole life – before she is placed in permanent care.

Social workers say Olivia has an ''amazing smiley face" and is ''a real people person'' who likes "music, toys, teddies and having a bath".

Her Devon-based adoption agency Families For Children say it is now the last chance for her to find an adoptive family before a more permanent care solution is found.

Family For Me, a project set up by Families for Children, is dedicated to finding adoptive families for 'harder to place' children, like Olivia.

Katie has also been open about the fact that she wants more kids and has been trying to fall pregnant with fiance Carl Woods.

She is already mum to Harvey, 19, Junior, 15, Princess, 13, Jet, seven, and Bunny, six.

She sparked a flurry of speculation in April when she posed with a hand on her stomach on Instagram.

However, the star told The Sun she was finding herself devastated each month when her pregnancy tests came back negative.

She said: "That was so annoying as everyone was speculating I was pregnant but I wasn’t. I wished I was!

“I have put on loads of weight as I’m trying to eat really healthily – so I just felt like saying: 'F**k off!'

“We’ve been doing pregnancy tests every month but the last few months we haven’t bothered. It’s been so disheartening.”
