ITV bosses stepped in to check Grace Dent before she quit I’m A Celebrity
ITV bosses are reported to have stepped in to help Grace Dent before she chose to leave I'm A Celebrity.
Food critic Grace, 50, dramatically walked from the show on Monday morning (November 27), after bosses pulled her out of the jungle on medical grounds. Soon after the announcement was made, Dent was spotted at Brisbane Airport before making her way back to the UK.
Grace was claimed to have "lost all her energy" whilst on the show, which led to fans sharing their concern for her wellbeing. After a medical assessment from production, it was agreed on both sides that Grace would be leaving the jungle.

Speaking to MailOnline, a source close to the show said that Dent had made the decision to go almost immediately after she was revealed to be taking on the next bushtucker trial – titled Down the Tubes – together with This Morning host Josie Gibson. The source went on: "Grace decided to leave the jungle soon after it was announced that she would be doing the latest Bushtucker Trial.
"It was mutually agreed upon that she would stand down from the competition, it was clear that she wasn't being herself, she had lost all energy when usually she's witty and fun to be around," they added. It was also revealed that due to not eating well, the experience "proved harder than she could have ever imagined".
Grace barely reacted when Ant and Dec announced that she would be taking on the trial together with Josie. Earlier in the show, she could be hard mumbling "I just want to go home" in camp.
After Grace chose to quit the show, EastEnders star Danielle Harold was announced to be taking her place on the trial. This was due to the fact that Danielle had finished third in the voting, and as a result would fill in for the food critic.
Grace became the first celeb to leave the camp, but she might not be the last as other celebrities continue to struggle. YouTuber Nella Rose also suggested that she might want to leave the show after realising how gruelling the programme is.
As well as this, Zoey 101 star Jamie Lynn Spears also was expected to be one of the first famous faces to quit the show. However, following the first week, Jamie Lynn has come out of her shell and it seems like a walkout is not on the cards.
I'm A Celebrity airs every day at 9pm on ITV1 and ITVX.
