Inside Gogglebox star Pete Sandiford’s love story with Paige as they marry just weeks after having first baby
GOGGLEBOX star Pete Sandiford has married his long-term girlfriend Paige Yeomans and welcomed his first baby with her.
Announcing the exciting news at the National Television Awards this weekend, the TV personality wowed fans with his love story.
Pete, 26, and Paige appear have been dating for a while – as the Gogglebox star affectionately referred to his new wife as his long term "best friend" .
He and his now-wife, who works as an Emergency Services call handler, first posed for a snap together on his social media last October.
It was there Pete announced he was due to marry Paige, who studied at Queen Mary University of London and worked at House of Fraser.
He penned alongside a snap of the pair – which he detailed was taken in 2019: "My Mrs and best mate what more could I ask for."
Peter then revealed on the show in February 2021 that he was engaged to be married to Paige – much to the delight of Gogglebox fans.
Two months later, the couple confirmed that Paige was pregnant, again sharing the news on a Gogglebox episode as he produced a baby scan.
Pete confirmed at the 26th Annual National Television Awards on September 9, 2021 that Paige had given birth to a baby boy.
He didn't say when exactly his new son was born, but said of being a new dad: "It's a bit overwhelming – got it all going on at the moment!"
Pete added of the baby – who is yet to be named and is known as 'little fella' to family: "He's a cool little lad, takes after his mum not me!"
“He’s two weeks old. He doesn’t have a name yet, we can’t decide. We’re calling him ‘little fella’ for now. He’s amazing," he added.
The TV star also revealed that he and Paige had secretly married ahead of the birth of their healthy baby boy.
He told OK magazine: "I'm married now! It was nerve-wracking but the best day of my life. Well, second best day as I’m a dad now, too."
Pete joked that he was very excited to be at the glamorous NTAs ceremony on Thursday as he would get a "full night's sleep in a hotel".
Last night, his co-star Julie Malone let slip about his baby news after Gogglebox picked up the gong for Best Factual programme.
Speaking off stage, Julie revealed: “I hope you don’t mind me saying this, but congratulations to Pete who has become a dad.”
Pete confirmed the news later in the evening, saying: “I’m a proud father. He’s a cool little lad. Takes after his mum."
His sister Sophie, who attended the awards ceremony alongside him to collect the coveted gong, added: “I’m a very proud auntie."
The brother and sister have been on Gogglebox since 2018, and are firm favourites with fans – who flooded social media to congratulate him.
Alongside his TV career, Pete has a job in the insurance industry.
