Hollyoaks star Stephanie Davis reveals the biggest challenge from her return as Sinead O'Connor

Stephanie Davis is making her Hollyoaks comeback as Sinead O’Connor after a three-year absence, but there was one part that she found the most challenging.

The biggest difference between 2015 and 2018 is that Stephanie has a child, having given birth to Caben in January 2017.

“He’s not been on yet,” she said, when asked at a recent Hollyoaks press event about whether or not Caben has been on set.

On being a single mother, she continued: “To be honest, it’s not easy. It’s hard, but I’m starting to get into a little routine now and a balance. It’s because of the long hours and putting him in nursery, because I’m on my own with him.

“But my mum’s been a great help and she has him on the days he’s not in nursery, so she can help.

“I would like to bring him in. Me, Chelsee [Healey], Jen [Metcalfe], Kieron [Richardson], and Alex [Fletcher] are parents, so we’ve got that in common now, and all we talk about is babies!”

Stephanie also teased that her character Sinead could clash with Sienna Blake.

“I don’t know, actually,” she said on who should be most scared by Sinead’s return. “I think with the new storyline I’ve got, coming back with a husband, a lot of that takes over. Maybe I’d say Sienna.”

Sinead makes a dramatic return to the village next week and reunites with her family, but her new husband Laurie Shelby and daughter Hannah will be hot on her heels.

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
