Hollyoaks star Owen Warner teases aftermath of James' huge Romeo discovery

Hollyoaks star Owen Warner has teased the aftermath of James Nightingale’s big discovery about Romeo Quinn.

Friday’s first look scenes saw Romeo finally tell James that he’s his son, but he will face a devastating rejection afterwards.

Although James is adamant that he wants nothing to do with Romeo, Owen – who plays the teenager – reckons the pair might be able to build a relationship eventually.

Speaking to Digital Spy, Owen said: “They are both so closed off and afraid of getting hurt. Because of this, they both have the walls so high.

“One of them needs to drop their boundaries in order to let the other one in. If one of them can do that, that will determine if they can have a relationship or not. “

Regardless of what the future holds for James and Romeo, Owen is looking forward to working more closely with Gregory Finnegan, who plays James.

“He’s so talented,” Owen said. “When I do a scene with him, I’ll have perceived it one way when reading it but he reads every line in a different way to how I thought. It gives me a new perspective on the scene. He is so brilliant to watch and work with.”

Teasing what viewers can expect from Romeo’s incoming sister Juliet, Owen added: “She’s confident, she’s mouthy, she says what’s on her mind.

“She likes getting her way but she also has a lovely, soft side and the relationship between Romeo and Juliet is really nice. Romeo has basically raised her.”

Hollyoaks airs weeknights at 6.30pm on Channel 4, with first look screenings at 7pm on E4.
