Hollyoaks star Owen Warner predicts a big showdown for Romeo Quinn and Mac Nightingale

Romeo Quinn and grandfather Mac Nightingale could be set for a big showdown on Hollyoaks, actor Owen Warner has teased.

The newly-arrived character Romeo is the secret son of James Nightingale, revealing the truth to his father – only to be rebuffed.

However, Owen – who plays Romeo – has predicted that a storm could come between him and his grandfather, especially if he discovers what Mac did to James over the years.

Mac tortured James for many years as he was growing up after being unable to accept the fact that his son was gay, even forcing him to sleep with a prostitute, which resulted in Romeo being born.

“Mac can’t take James being happy, he just wants to ruin his life any way possible,” Owen told OK! Magazine. “Romeo has no idea, he’s got all of that to learn and so when he does find out… he loves his family.

“His mum and sister are the centre point of his life, so if Mac does get to James and James opens up to Romeo and he finds out someone is doing that to him… he’s not gonna hold back.”

“Mac would hate that, if Romeo and James got along,” James actor Gregory Finnegan added. “I imagine so, he’s gonna be on full evil mode going forward I think.”
