Good Morning Britain host Sean Fletcher has swapped the ITV hot desk for a BBC courtroom after bagging himself a new job.

Sean plays the role of a barrister after making his acting debut in new BBC drama Keeping Faith.

During Friday's edition of GMB, the star's co-hosts Kate Garraway and Charlotte Hawkins heaped praise on Sean for the role.

In a short clip, the star can be seen in full legal regalia while arguing in court.

Beaming like a proud parent, Kate said: "He had finally made his debut."

Laughing, Sean replied: "This was in the summer.

"I had the chance to appear in Keeping Faith which is a BBC drama.

"I noticed some people don't know what it is…"

Playing down his part, the modesty star continued: "One of the main reasons I got it as the drama is filmed in English and Welsh and I speak Welsh.

"That weeds out great parts of the population. They needed someone."

Keen not to let Sean play it down too much, Charlotte added: "I am sure it was your acting ability.

"I could be the start of something you never know. I watched it and it was a proud moment. Well done."

Sean went on to explain that his part did feel like he was doing 'grown up TV' compared to the unscripted world of Good Morning Britain.

Laughing, he said: "I am glad you said that but I have to say it does feel like grown up television working in a drama.

"We just turn up and do this stuff."

Playfully acting stunned, Kate chuckled: "Anyway, we are out of time on Shaun. Let's move on."
