Get the First Look at ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 8, Details of Season Premiere
The first official photo of forthcoming season 8 of “Game of Thrones” is here! Appearing on the cover of Entertainment Weekly, the photo features Jon (Kit Harington) and Khaleesi a.k.a. Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke).
The two major characters of HBO’s hit series are seen snuggling up to each other in the snow. It doesn’t come as a suprise considering they were caught in an extremely heated moment the last time fans saw them in the show’s season 7 finale.

Executive producer Bryan Cogman promises that the final season of the cult series will offer a big surprise for fans, revealing, “It’s about all of these disparate characters coming together to face a common enemy, dealing with their own past, and defining the person they want to be in the face of certain death.”
“It’s an incredibly emotional haunting bittersweet final season and I think it honors very much what [author George R.R. Martin] set out to do — which is flipping this kind of story on its head,” he continues.
In addition to the first-look pic, fans are offered more details about the upcoming season including what to expect in the first episode of season 8, which was originally pitched as 3 movies. According to the magazine, the final season is set to feature chock-full of callbacks to the pilot episode.
The episode will reportedly kick off with the arrival of Dany’s army which reminds everyone with how King Robert’s forces making their way to Winterfell in the first episode. Season 8 premiere episode will also reunite characters who have a long and complicated history as well as those who have never crossed paths before.
Fans also now have an idea where the final battle is set to reach its climax. After seven seasons of war between the livings and the deads, the characters of HBO’s acclaimed fantasy series will put an end to their war at of the Starks’ home of Winterfell.
The new article suggests that the crew members of the production team spent 55 nights shooting battle scenes,though it covered only exteriors shot at the Winterfell set. They spent a few more weeks to shoot the indoor scenes.
Peter Dinklage, who plays Tyrion Lanister, further teases that the final battle will be the biggest battle to ever happen on the series. “It makes the ‘Battle of the Bastards’ look like a theme park,” he shares, adding that the final battle is “brutal.”
Season 8 of “Game of Thrones” will arrive sometime in 2019 on HBO.
