Gary Lineker signs bumper five figure pay deal to host new huge ITV game show
He's already the BBC's biggest earner, now Gary Lineker has boosted his bumper bank account even further with a big-money deal with ITV.
Bosses at the channel have commissioned a series of his new game show Sitting on a Fortune.
It means he will get a bumper five-figure pay packet.
An insider said: “Gary filmed a pilot episode of Sitting on a Fortune and it went really well, so execs have commissioned a full series.
“They think the show has the potential to be a big hit.”
Gary has signed up to film six episodes of the show later this year and it will be aired in a primetime spot on ITV.
The show will see contestants answer questions in a bid to win life-changing money, and the top prize will be a cool £100,000.
The source added: “The format is very entertaining. It will have viewers hooked.
“Gary is hoping he can be the next household name to become a successful game show host.”
Gary’s earnings from the show will add to his bumper salary at the BBC.
This week it emerged he is the corporation’s highest-paid star on £1.36million.
The Match Of The Day star is leader of the list of the top 10 paid employees at the Beeb, who released their list of the biggest salaries this week.
He's ahead of some of the top names in radio and news, including Radio 2 presenter Zoe Ball, DJ Steve Wright and popular newsreader Huw Edwards.
He still managed to top the list despite agreeing to a £390,000 paycut last year when signing his new contract.
It was the fourth year in a row that Gary was revealed to be the biggest earner, but BBC Breakfast's Naga Munchetty earned the biggest pay rise with a 30% increase.
He'll be worth even more now with this lucrative ITV deal.
