Emmerdale's Cain Dingle leaves the village after Joe Tate's death
The fallout from Joe Tate’s shocking death continued on Wednesday’s (October 17) visit to Emmerdale, when it all became too much for Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).
Cain has been racked with guilt ever since Joe’s death, as he wrongly believes he’s the one who killed him.
Thinking he’d left his daughter Debbie at the altar, Cain punched Joe, causing him to fall and hit his head on a rock last week.
But unknown to Cain, Graham Foster later seemingly finished off the job in secret after Joe’s finger was seen twitching in the aftermath of the punch.
Cain’s guilt over Joe’s death has strained his relationship with Moira and his behaviour has left her suspicious that he’s hiding a big secret.
Despite being given numerous opportunities by his wife to open up, tonight, Cain decided he couldn’t deal with the guilt anymore and left the village after writing a note to her saying he needed to clear his head.
But despite leaving Moira to struggle on her own, a lot of viewers were sympathetic to Cain knowing that he didn’t actually murder Joe.
However it looks as if Cain won’t be gone for long, as he appears in the spoiler pics for next week, which you can check out below.
But the question is – will he do the right thing when he returns?
