Emmerdale spoilers: Marlon struggles to cope as wedding to Rhona nears | The Sun

MARLON Dingle has been recovering from his stroke for several months and things are finally looking up for him.

The Emmerdale chef is ready to get married to Rhona Goskirk – but is he as happy as he makes out?

Rhona Goskirk (portrayed by Zoe Henry) has found the love of her life in the form of Marlon Dingle (Mark Charnock) and is ready to walk down the aisle with him.

But to do so, she has had to give him time to recover from his horrific stroke and the healing process hasn't been easy for the professional chef.

Next week, Marlon is slowly readapting to the world outside of Smithy Cottage but is still finding it hard to leave his home.

It all begins when his fiancée is firstly hesitant when her best friend Vanessa Woodfield suggests a party to celebrate their engagement.

Rhona broaches it, leaving Marlon doubtful and while he remains nervous about going back to The Woolpack for the first time since his stroke, he relents.

Fortunately, Marlon doesn't have to face it all alone as he gets support from Paddy Dingle (Dominic Brunt) who initially found it hard to be present for him.

Marlon is reassured everything will be okay and, later that day, him and Rhona arrive at the local pub for their engagement party.

All seems well as Marlon manages a declaration of love for Rhona and everyone cheers.

But as mentioned above, this would be the first time Marlon goes back to The Woolpack since he suffered from his stroke.

Is he keeping up a brave front?

While that remains to be seen, Marlon's stroke storyline has left fans at the edge of their seats and sometimes angry.

Marlon's physical therapist Kit (played by Thoren Ferguson) has come under fire in recent scenes of Emmerdale after he was accused of pushing Marlon too far in his recovery.

He eventually came to an agreement with his patient and asked him to teach him how to cook to help him pick his motor skills back up.
